Let’s hear from Eric.

Q: What do you like best about your job?

A: The best part of my job is the people I work with and the diversity of what I do every day.    From a people perspective my team, the Tampa office, and the rest of the socius crew are the best.  People really care for each other, help each other, and work great together.  It’s a pleasure to be part of the culture here.    From a diversity in what I do perspective, this job is so not boring…  Every day there are new problems to solve, deals to be negotiated, people to interact with. Its always challenging and never boring.

Q: What is the culture like at your company?

A: I think our culture is amazing and what really sets us apart from other employers and other brokers.   Management really cares about everyone.  The people here really work well together and really like each other.  Its hard to describe but its there and its pervasive… even during this pandemic.  Believe it or not, I see it a lot on social media.   One of us will post something (good or bad), and its usually the other folks in the office chiming in to support them, encourage them, congratulate them, etc.   It makes me feel great when I see it.  In the office its all about helping each other whenever and wherever possible.  There’s not a stinker in the bunch.

Q: How do you maintain work-life balance?

A: Work life balance has always been important to me.  My wife would probably say I still haven’t found that balance but I think I’ve done OK with it.  When my kids were younger I tried to be involved in their lives as much as I could.  I traveled a ton for work but when I was home, at night and on the weekends, I tried to focus on them. As they got older I tried to stay involved in their lives as much as they would let me.   So far our kids have turned out to be really good people and we’re still very much involved in their lives so maybe it worked a little.  Also a lot of my co-workers, and agents have become my friends (even away from the office) which has actually helped with that balance.   I continue to struggle with the balance but I try to be present at home as much as I can.
